Columbus High School Boys Basketball Team defeated Holmes County Central High School 52-38 on March 7, 2026, to win the MHSAA Class 5A State Championship at the Mississippi Coliseum

Tylan Brown earned Championship MVP honors with 17 points and eight rebounds, while DJ Verdell scored 15 points and Mike Hood added 13 points
