Willie H. Jefferson (June 24, 1956 - December 22, 2025) served over 30 years at Ellisville State School in Mississippi, rising from security officer in 1973 to Facility Assistant Director, a position he held from 1992 until retirement in 2005

Earned a bachelor's degree in social rehabilitation services from The University of Southern Mississippi and a master's in counseling psychology from William Carey College, becoming a Certified Mental Health Therapist and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator

Received the MAAMR Paul D. Cotten, Ph.D. Leadership Award and served on the Mississippi Development Disabilities Planning Council, Jones County Extension Service Advisory Board, and Ellisville State School Human Rights Advocacy Committee

Provided consultation services to South Mississippi Regional Center, North Mississippi Regional Center, and Boswell Regional Center in addition to his primary role

The Mississippi House of Representatives adopted this resolution to commemorate his life and express condolences to his wife Barbara, daughters Cynthia and Monica, and grandchildren
