Yasmine Ware, a University of Mississippi student from Madison, Mississippi, named a 2025 Harry S. Truman Scholar, becoming Ole Miss's 20th Truman Scholar and one of only 54 students selected nationwide from over 700 applicants

Ware is an interdisciplinary studies major with concentrations in international studies, Chinese, and global security, with plans to pursue a Juris Doctor and graduate studies in public administration and international development

Leadership roles include President of the Undergraduate Black Law Student Association, Columns Society member, and honors college senator, with internship experience in the U.S. Congress and work with the United Nations

Created the award-winning podcast "Yasmine's Warehouse," which won top honors in The New York Times' Student Podcast Contest and led to a White House press invitation

Received the inaugural James H. Meredith Community Transformation Award for producing "The Mound Bayou Memoirs," a documentary about one of the nation's first all African-American municipalities
