Limuel Eubanks received the 2026 Southeastern Region Supervision and Administration Art Educator of the Year award from the National Art Education Association on March 6, 2026

Eubanks serves as Director of PreK-12 Arts at the Mississippi Department of Education, overseeing programs in dance, media arts, music, theatre, visual arts, world languages, and the Mississippi Seal of Biliteracy

The award recognizes exemplary service among art educators across 12 states and territories including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands

Eubanks holds a Master of Fine Arts in two-dimensional and three-dimensional art, a Master of Education in mild/moderate special education with art education and gifted/talented specializations, and a Bachelor of Arts in ceramics, painting, dramatic arts, and communications
