Mrs. Juanita Pauline Smith Burns of Lincoln County, Mississippi, is commended and congratulated on her 100th birthday, February 19, 2026

Born in the Pleasant Hill Community as the eighth of ten children, she married Carl M. Burns on May 5, 1944, and remained married for nearly 53 years until his death in 1997

Her career included 34 years as a clothing apparel inspector at Kellwood in Summit, Mississippi, along with positions as a cashier at Jitney Jungle, senior aide at Mamie Martin Elementary School, and receptionist at the Social Security and Unemployment Office in Brookhaven

She is the matriarch of a five-generation family including one son, three grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild

As the oldest living member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, she has served as a Sunday School teacher, church hostess, Woman's Missionary Union member, and pastor search committee participant
