Mark Anthony Smith, Sr. (August 28, 1974 – February 9, 2026) was a Vicksburg, Mississippi native who played six seasons in the NFL as a defensive lineman for the Arizona Cardinals (four seasons) and Cleveland Browns (two seasons), recording 191 total tackles, 20 sacks, and earning All-Rookie Team honors

Earned Junior College All-American honors at Hinds Community College, where he helped lead the team to the top-ranked rushing defense and 1994 Mississippi state championship, after being recognized as the number one defensive player in the nation at Navarro Community College

Following his NFL career, Smith was inducted into both the Vicksburg-Warren School District Hall of Fame and Hinds Community College Sports Hall of Fame

Founded Smith Construction, LLC and operated River City Cigars and Brew, one of Vicksburg's first premium cigar establishments, for more than 12 years

The Mississippi House of Representatives adopted this resolution to commemorate his life and express sympathy to his surviving six children, two granddaughters, five siblings, and extended family
