Mississippi House of Representatives Softball Team defeated the Alabama Legislature 16-11 in the second annual Battle of the Tombigbee in Birmingham, Alabama, scoring five runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a tie

Proceeds from the Battle of the Tombigbee game benefitted Children's of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham

The team also defeated the Louisiana House of Representatives 23-8 in a separate game in Baton Rouge

Resolution commends Coach Troy Smith and the team for their sportsmanship and competitive success
