Ricky Hood serves as Chief Executive Officer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Mississippi, overseeing four sites across Lauderdale, Neshoba, and Attala Counties with 52 staff members

Hood has dedicated over 35 years to the Boys and Girls Club, beginning as a childhood member in Montgomery, Alabama before starting work at the Meridian, Mississippi club in 1988

The organization served over 900 children daily pre-pandemic across six sites, provided 2,500 meals daily during COVID-19, and currently serves over 600 children daily

Hood received numerous awards including the Southeast Regional Herman S. Prescott Award, Lou Dantzler Award, NAACP Man of the Year, and Mississippi Area Council Professional of the Year

The Mississippi House of Representatives formally recognizes and commends Hood for his continuous hard work and dedicated service to East Mississippi youth
