Earl "Big E" Sanders, Jr. was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame on February 12, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas, becoming only the second Jackson State University player to receive this honor

During his tenure at Jackson State (1984-1986), Sanders achieved a .432 batting average with 17 home runs and 60 RBIs in his final season, earning both SWAC Hitter of the Year and Pitcher of the Year in the same season

Sanders was selected in the first round of the 1986 Major League Baseball Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays

After his playing career was shortened by injury, Sanders transitioned to coaching and played a pivotal role in re-establishing the baseball program at Tougaloo College, where the baseball field was dedicated in his honor in 2023
