Germantown High School Mavericks Cheerleading Team won the 2026 Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) National High School Cheerleading Championship in the Game Day category on February 1, 2026, at Walt Disney World Resort

The Small Coed Cheer Team (18 students) placed ninth out of 27 teams in the UCA Traditional category with a zero-deduction routine

The team also achieved third place at the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) State Cheerleading Championship in December 2025

Head Coach Neely Umphlett and Assistant Coach Hannah Mitchell led the 38-member squad through the championship season

The Mississippi House of Representatives formally commends the team and extends best wishes for future athletic and academic endeavors
