Updates statutory references throughout Mississippi Code from "Mississippi Adequate Education Program" (MAEP) to "total funding formula" to reflect current education funding terminology

Increases the gifted education weight from 5% to 14.5% and expands the percentage of students eligible for gifted funding from 5% to 10% of net enrollment

Expands career and technical education (CTE) funding multiplier to include 7th and 8th grade students, in addition to the existing coverage for 9th through 12th grade students

Effective date is July 1, 2026
