Mississippi Justice Information Center must establish a statewide misdemeanor warrant management system to electronically track warrants across jurisdictions as they are issued, served, and recalled, operational by January 1, 2028

Department of Public Safety is required to promulgate rules and regulations necessary to implement the warrant management system

All criminal justice agencies and the Administrative Office of Courts must assist in establishing the misdemeanor warrant management system

The bill amends existing criminal justice information statutes to add definitions and authorize information sharing from the new warrant system to local, state, and federal governmental agencies

Effective date is July 1, 2026
