Gaming licensees in Mississippi must withhold progressive slot machine annuities and reportable cash gaming winnings from individuals who owe child support arrearages, forwarding the deducted amounts to the Department of Human Services within 7 days

The Mississippi Gaming Commission and Department of Human Services are required to collaborate on rules and regulations for this withholding process, with implementation deadline of January 1, 2027

Obligors whose winnings are withheld may request an administrative hearing within 30 days, but only on grounds of mistaken identity or incorrect arrearage amounts

Gaming licensees may charge an administrative fee up to $35.00 per payment from individuals with outstanding child support arrearages

Gaming licensees and their employees are protected from civil and criminal liability for disclosing information or withholding winnings in accordance with this law
