MS SB2746

Creates the "Older Mississippians Act" designating the Division of Aging and Adult Services within the Department of Human Services as the State Unit on Aging responsible for administering all federal and state programs for adults aged 60 and older

Establishes the Division's duties including planning services, advocating for older adults, preventing neglect and exploitation, supporting family caregivers, and developing policy for home and community-based long-term care

Authorizes the Division to take corrective actions against Area Agencies on Aging for violations including misappropriation of funds, failure to meet contractual obligations, or actions that materially affect the health and safety of older adults

Defines in-home supportive services to include homemaker assistance, personal care, telephone reassurance, chore maintenance, respite care, and minor home modifications

Repeals the existing Mississippi Old Age Security Law (Sections 43-9-1 through 43-9-47) and takes effect July 1, 2026
