Prohibits discharging firearms across or in any public road, within 500 feet of any school or church, within 500 feet of any dwelling house, or in state/county/municipal parks where prohibited

Exempts residents and authorized guests of a dwelling house who discharge firearms lawfully with consent of all residents, provided no other dwelling houses are within 500 feet

Violations constitute a misdemeanor punishable by fines of $50 to $500, imprisonment up to 100 days, or both

Licensed gun repair shops and firearm stores may test fire weapons under Department of Public Safety regulations, with nearby residents given opportunity to protest the exemption

Indoor shooting ranges holding required licenses and complying with applicable laws are exempt from these restrictions; effective date is July 1, 2026
