Eliminates Mississippi's state sales tax on groceries, defined as food or drink for human consumption that is eligible for purchase with SNAP/food stamps issued by the USDA or other federal agency.

Amends Section 27-65-111 of the Mississippi Code to add groceries to the list of items exempt from state sales tax.

Replaces the previous exemption that only applied to food purchased with food stamps, expanding the exemption to all grocery purchases regardless of payment method.

Requires conforming amendments to Sections 27-65-17, 27-65-75, and 27-67-31 of the Mississippi Code.

Introduced by Senators McLendon, Blackmon, and Simmons (13th) and referred to the Finance Committee during the 2026 Regular Session.
