Prohibits the Mississippi Commissioner of Insurance, candidates for that office, and Department of Insurance employees from knowingly accepting campaign contributions from individuals or entities regulated by the department

Bars owners, agents, legal representatives, and those acting on behalf of regulated insurance companies from offering campaign contributions to the Commissioner, candidates, or department employees

Violations carry mandatory penalties including immediate forfeiture of office or position, fines of at least $5,000, imprisonment of at least one year, or both

Recipients who unknowingly accept prohibited contributions have 30 days after discovery to remit the value to the Secretary of State for deposit in the Election Support Fund

Small shareholders owning less than 0.5% of stock (not exceeding $10,000 in value) are exempt from the "covered person" definition unless actively acting as an owner, agent, or representative
