Appropriates $7,891,819 from the State General Fund and $5,058,750 from special funds to the Mississippi State Department of Audit for fiscal year 2027 (July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027)

Authorizes 134 permanent employee positions with total personal services funding of $12,266,613, including $11,368,806 for salaries, wages, and fringe benefits and $897,807 for vacancy funding

Permits the State Auditor to escalate and expend up to $1,500,000 from available sources to comply with the Single Audit Act of 1984 for staffing or engaging private accountants

Sets performance targets including recovering $600,000 in embezzled or misspent funds through investigations, completing 10 performance audit reports, and handling 6,400 technical assistance inquiries

Allocates $200,000 for the Accountancy Fellowship Program and $30,000 for CPA Review Course fees for employees, with the latter to be reimbursed by employees over 12 months
