East Rankin Academy Shooting Sports Team won the 2025 Mississippi Scholastic Shooting Program (MSSP) State Championship, marking their sixth consecutive state title

The team earned $7,500 of the $12,000 in scholarships awarded at the two-day tournament, which featured the top 150 Sporting Clay, Skeet, and Trap shooters in grades 7-12

Fifteen student-athletes were recognized: Olivia Griffing, Garrett Barham, Gunner Barham, Irby Rawson, Branton Miller, Seth Peden, Peyson Knight, Andrew Stevens, AJ McIlwain, Dylan Brady, Cole Parker, Karson Williams, Max Peden, Ethan Brown, and Bentley Long, along with Coach Matthew Miller

The MSSP is a youth development program using shotgun sports (5-Stand, Skeet, and Sporting Clays) to teach discipline, safety, teamwork, and hunting skills

The resolution directs presentation to Coach Miller and Head of School Robyn Winstead, with copies to the East Rankin Academy Board of Trustees
