St. Luke Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi, founded in 1925 by Millissis Shannon and her husband Charles, celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2025

The church began with approximately 12 members holding services in homes and bush harbors, and has grown to a congregation of over 1,000 members

Elder W.E. Garner served as pastor for 33 years, followed by Elder Walter Shannon who led from 1964 until 1997 and renamed the church "St. Luke Church of God in Christ"

Elder Earl Allen Shannon has served as pastor since 1997, expanding the church's outreach programs and ministries locally and worldwide

The Mississippi Senate formally commemorates the centennial celebration and extends best wishes to Superintendent Earl Allen Shannon and the congregation
