Kaytelyn Harris of Quitman, Mississippi named State Games of Mississippi 2025 Female Athlete of the Year by the Ochsner Rush Health program

Harris won back-to-back Gold Medals in disc golf despite only playing the sport for a year and a half, and has placed in ten regional tournaments

The 2025 State Games featured over 5,200 athletes competing in more than 40 events across 18 counties in Mississippi

Harris, a single mother of three, achieved a personal best tournament round at four strokes over par and credits mental focus and community support for her success

The resolution directs presentation to Harris and her family, with copies forwarded to the State Games of Mississippi and the Capitol Press Corps
