The South Eastern Region (Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama) includes 120 chapters with over 14,000 members, led by Dr. Tracey Morant Adams

The sorority's first Mississippi chapter was chartered in 1934, and members have since contributed millions of dollars in financial contributions and countless hours of community service to the state

Current initiatives include the "Soar to the Polls" voter engagement campaign addressing voter education, registration, and engagement, plus advocacy to reduce suicide among Black youth and preventable deaths of Black mothers during pregnancy and childbirth

The Mississippi Senate formally recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for its civic and financial contributions and lasting impact to the state
