Colonel Charles Haynes served 25 years with the Mississippi Highway Patrol as Director and Assistant Commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety before joining Mississippi College as Director of Administration of Justice

Haynes held multiple law enforcement positions including Brandon Police Department officer, Mississippi State Trooper, Mississippi Joint Terrorism Task Force officer, and Special Agent for the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation

Haynes earned a B.S. in management and M.S. in leadership from Belhaven University and graduated from the FBI National Academy in June 2019

He received the Mississippi Highway Patrol Medal of Valor and the Community Service Award from Belhaven University

The resolution formally commends his service and congratulates him on his new academic position, with copies to be presented to Haynes and Commissioner Sean Tindell
