Nonprofit organizations, colleges, universities, and school districts may accept credit card payments for raffle ticket purchases, creating an exception to Montana's general prohibition on credit gambling

Raffles conducted by these entities using credit cards are excluded from the definition of "internet gambling," allowing online raffle ticket sales with credit card payment

The prohibition on credit gambling remains in effect for all other gambling activities and for raffles conducted by individuals or for-profit organizations

Raffle proceeds from nonprofit organizations, colleges, universities, and school districts must be used only for charitable purposes or prizes, not administrative costs

Effective date: June 1, 2025
