Municipal elections would move from odd-numbered years to even-numbered years, coinciding with federal and state general elections held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November

Eliminates the September primary election previously held in odd-numbered years for municipal races; only the June primary in even-numbered years would remain

Municipal officers whose terms end in January 2026 would serve a one-year transitional term following a 2025 election

Municipal officers whose terms end in January 2028 or January 2030 would have a special election for a one-year transitional term during the preceding even-numbered year general election

Municipalities remain responsible for paying the costs of their elections; the act takes effect immediately upon passage and approval
