Reduces Montana Supreme Court from seven justices (one chief justice and six associate justices) to five justices (one chief justice and four associate justices)

Eliminates seat number 1 and seat number 2, whose current terms run from January 2023 to January 2031

Cancels elections for these two positions in the November 2030 general election

The reduction takes effect the first Monday of January 2031, while other provisions take effect upon passage and approval

Does not affect rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that began before the effective date
