Appropriates $2,333,333 per fiscal year (FY 2026 and FY 2027) from the general fund to the Office of Budget and Program Planning, split equally between the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and Lake County

Funds support the transition of felony criminal jurisdiction on the Flathead Indian Reservation to the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, and reimburse Lake County for enforcing felony jurisdiction under Public Law 280

Acknowledges Lake County has withdrawn from Public Law 280 but will assist the state in transitioning jurisdiction until June 30, 2027

Legislature intends this appropriation to become part of the ongoing base budget for future bienniums until the state completes retrocession from Public Law 280
