Parents must provide written permission before children can attend "identity instruction" covering gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation; parents may withdraw consent at any time by notifying the district superintendent

Schools must notify parents 5-14 school days before human sexuality or identity instruction begins, increased from the previous 48-hour requirement

School districts must annually provide parents with basic curriculum content, electronic links to materials, a calendar of related events/assemblies, and information about their right to withdraw students from human sexuality instruction

"Identity instruction" is newly defined as separate from "human sexuality instruction," with sexual orientation and gender identity removed from the human sexuality definition and placed in the new identity category

District trustees must report individuals who knowingly or repeatedly violate these requirements to the Board of Public Education; the act takes effect July 1, 2025
