First responders diagnosed with PTSD may file compensable workers' compensation claims when the condition arises from work-related events, excluding personnel actions such as disciplinary matters, job evaluations, or termination

"First responder" includes professional or volunteer firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, county detention center or prison employees, and emergency care providers as defined in state law

PTSD diagnosis must follow the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders edition in publication as of July 1, 2025

Creates an exception to Montana's general prohibition on "mental-mental" and "mental-physical" stress claims under workers' compensation law

Effective July 1, 2025, applying to claims where the PTSD-causing events occurred on or after that date
