County commissioners may terminate a zoning district by resolution after public notice and hearing if the county has opted into the Montana Land Use Planning Act (Title 76, chapter 25) or if the district will be absorbed into a larger zoning district

Retains the existing petition process allowing real property owners to request a termination referendum with signatures from 20% or more of property owners in the zoning district

County clerk and recorder must validate petition signatures within 60 days of receipt

Failed referendum petitions trigger a 3-year waiting period before property owners can submit another termination petition for the same zoning district

Amends MCA sections 76-2-118 and 76-2-229 governing county zoning district termination procedures
