Exempts Division of Criminal Investigation employees (fire marshals and agents in narcotics or major crimes) from restrictions on using state-owned vehicles to commute from home to work

Qualifying employees must be subject to call-outs during nonscheduled hours for protection of life or property

Existing exemptions remain for the Montana State Prison psychiatrist, employees whose vehicle serves as their worksite, and elected/appointed officials with 24-hour vehicle authorization

Amends Section 2-17-425, MCA governing state vehicle commuting restrictions

Effective immediately upon passage and approval
