County commissioners may initiate civil proceedings to seek a writ of mandamus to compel or enjoin actions by local government entities within the county or their governing body members

Counties may hire outside counsel for mandamus litigation and recover attorney fees and costs as determined by the court

"Local government entity" excludes counties, consolidated city-counties, incorporated cities or towns, and school districts from being subject to these proceedings

Elected or appointed officials found in contempt for not complying with a writ of mandamus may be subject to recall under existing recall provisions
