Local governments are prohibited from enacting, adopting, or enforcing any resolution, ordinance, rule, or policy that would enforce an extreme risk protection order (red flag law) against Montana residents

Local governments cannot accept grants or other funding to aid in adopting, implementing, or enforcing extreme risk protection orders

Violations subject local governments to civil penalties of up to $10,000 per instance, payable to the state general fund

"Extreme risk protection order" is defined as a directive issued by a judge or executive order that prohibits an individual from possessing firearms or requires firearm surrender to reduce risk of firearm-related death or injury; does not include domestic violence protection orders under Title 40, chapter 15

Amends Section 7-1-111, MCA to add extreme risk protection order restrictions to the list of powers denied to local governments with self-government authority
