Elementary school districts must reorganize with their corresponding high school districts to form unified K-12 districts with single contiguous boundaries by July 1, 2029

County superintendents must submit reorganization plans to the Education Interim Committee by March 1, 2026, developed in collaboration with school district trustees and administrators

Required plan contents include: list of operating schools with 20-year enrollment data, information on noncontiguous territories, proposed board of trustees structure, educational and financial concerns, and reorganization timeline

Education Interim Committee will review county reports and recommend any necessary statutory changes to the next legislature

Effective immediately upon passage and approval
