Candidates for Montana Supreme Court Chief Justice or Justice may indicate political party affiliation on their declaration for nomination, with that affiliation appearing on both primary and general election ballots

Candidates who choose not to declare a party affiliation will have "Nonpartisan" listed next to their name on the ballot

Supreme Court candidates may publicly announce their political party affiliation and campaign endorsements they have received

Appropriates $5,000 from the general fund to the Secretary of State for website updates and computer programming changes related to judicial elections

Effective July 1, 2025, applying to elections held on or after January 1, 2026
