Creates a fire department health and safety grant special revenue account funded by charitable donations, gifts, grants, and $10 application fees

Fire departments, companies, or districts created under Title 7, chapter 33 may apply for grants up to $10,000, limited to one grant per year

Grant funds may purchase safety equipment including personal protective equipment, saunas, shower facilities, and PPE washing/extraction devices

Priority given to departments with smaller operating budgets, located in rural areas, distributed across various regions of the state, and those identifying needs impacting all firefighters on roster

Administered by the disaster and emergency services division of the Department of Military Affairs, which may retain up to 1% for administrative costs; effective July 1, 2025
