Requests the Legislative Council to assign an interim or statutory committee to study U.S. Highway 212 east of Billings, focusing on conditions, problems, and motorist services to reduce fatalities and dangerous situations

U.S. Highway 212 had the highest fatality rate of any rural roadway in Montana from 2013 to 2022, with Bighorn County (ranked 16th in population) having the 4th highest roadway fatalities statewide during that period

Study will utilize data from the Montana Department of Transportation, local governments, communities, and residents along the highway corridor

Investigation will examine solutions used on other rural roadways in Montana and other states to address deaths and dangerous conditions

All study aspects must be concluded by September 15, 2026, with final results reported to the 70th Legislature
