Montana Legislature applies to Congress for an Article V convention of states to propose constitutional amendments imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government, limiting federal power and jurisdiction, and establishing term limits for federal officials and members of Congress

Resolution cites concerns about national debt from "improper and imprudent spending," unfunded federal mandates infringing on state roles, and federal overreach beyond constitutional interpretation

Secretary of State must transmit copies to the President and Secretary of the U.S. Senate, Speaker and Clerk of the U.S. House, Montana's congressional delegation, and presiding officers of all state legislatures

Application remains in effect until at least two-thirds of state legislatures (34 states) submit applications on the same subject, as required by Article V to trigger a convention
