Requests the Legislative Finance Committee conduct an interim study on how federal funding changes since January 20, 2025, affect Montana's Office of Public Instruction (OPI) and Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE)

OPI budget is 13.9% federally funded with 71.9 FTE positions relying on federal dollars; OCHE budget is 5% federally funded with 22.94 FTE positions dependent on federal funding

Study must analyze impacts on agency operations, budgets, personnel reductions, and sustainability of programs that utilize federal funding at state, local, and tribal levels

Findings must be presented to policy committees, the Modernization and Risk Analysis Committee, and interim budget committees, with all study work concluded by September 15, 2026

Final results, findings, and recommendations to be reported to the 70th Legislature
