Railroad companies operating in Montana must promptly report accidents to the Public Service Commission, including time, place, names of persons killed or injured, and value of property destroyed

Transfers regulatory authority from the Department to the Commission for railroad accident reporting oversight

Grants the Commission new rulemaking authority to set reporting thresholds, allowing the agency to establish minimum criteria for which accidents require reporting

Effective immediately upon passage and approval
