Public employers are prohibited from deducting dues, fees, fines, assessments, or contributions from employee salaries on behalf of labor organizations, political committees, or political organizations

Public employers are prohibited from directly or indirectly assisting labor organizations, political committees, or political organizations with collecting dues, fees, assessments, or contributions

Violating these prohibitions constitutes an unfair labor practice for both public employers and labor organizations that induce employers to violate the law

Violations may be treated as breaches of the state code of ethics and enforced under ethics provisions

Effective July 1, 2025, applying to collective bargaining agreements executed, modified, extended, or amended on or after that date
