Extends indefinitely the duration of water reservations granted to municipalities and conservation districts above Fort Peck Dam, originally established by the Board of Natural Resources and Conservation on July 1, 1992, until those reservations are either perfected or revoked

Removes a previous deadline that would have required these water reservations to be perfected by a specific date, allowing holders more time to put the reserved water to beneficial use

Adds an exception to the department's authority to modify or revoke water reservations during 10-year reviews, protecting the above Fort Peck Dam reservations from being modified under the standard review process

Requires the Secretary of State to notify each federally recognized tribal government in Montana of the act's passage

Takes effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor
