Amends Montana's privacy in communications law (Section 45-8-213, MCA) to add a new exception allowing any person to record conversations with elected or appointed public officials or public employees when they are performing official duties

Currently, Montana law prohibits recording conversations using hidden devices without the knowledge of all parties; this bill expands who can legally record without consent

The exception applies specifically to recordings made while officials or employees are acting in their official capacity, not during personal or private interactions

Existing exceptions remain unchanged, including recordings by public officials performing official duties, persons speaking at public meetings, and parties given warning of recording
