Resources containing material of a sexual nature must be placed in the young adult or adult section of public libraries, regardless of the intended reading age; resources with graphic sexual content must be placed in the adult section only

Any community member may object to a resource's placement based on purported sexual or graphic sexual content, and the chief librarian must then move the resource to the appropriate restricted section

Digital content and resources in libraries must include age-based content protections, and children may only access age-appropriate digital content at the discretion of their parent or guardian

Library boards of trustees must ensure chief librarians develop and maintain cataloging standards that comply with these placement requirements

Amends MCA sections 22-1-301, 22-1-309, 22-1-310, 22-1-326, and 22-1-712 to incorporate these new requirements into existing public library governance statutes
