Requires Grade A pasteurized milk containers to display both a "sell by" date (17 days after pasteurization) and a "best by" date indicating freshness and safety for consumers

Prohibits sale of Grade A milk more than 17 days after pasteurization unless the processor obtains department approval for an extended "sell by" date through scientific testing

Processors seeking extended "sell by" dates must submit bacterial testing documentation from samples stored at 35-45°F, with testing completed within 3 months of application

Labels must use Arabic numerals at least 1/8 inch in height, with contrasting colors, placed on carton sealing fins or upper half of plastic jugs

Exempts processors not selling to the public or processing milk for out-of-state sale; authorizes Department of Livestock to seize and destroy non-compliant milk
