Local governments cannot charge more than $25 per month or $10 for a 3-consecutive-day period for a child's use of parks or sports fields

Fee caps apply per individual child, including when fees are charged to children's sports teams

Swimming pools, aquatic centers, and ice recreation centers are exempt from the fee limitations

"Child" is defined as a person under 18 years of age; "local government" includes counties, consolidated governments, incorporated cities/towns, and special districts

Contracts established prior to July 1, 2025 are grandfathered and not subject to the new fee limits; the act takes effect July 1, 2025
