Public library boards must adopt materials policies administered by the chief librarian, who may still remove items for practical reasons (shelf space, damage), pedagogical concerns, or legal compliance

Both school districts and public libraries must report completed material challenges to state education officials, including hearing details and outcomes; effective July 1, 2025
