Landlords, property managers, merchants, vendors, creditors, and other parties may charge consumers a credit card transaction fee of up to 3% of the total transaction amount, or a different amount if specified by contract

Clear disclosure of the credit card transaction fee is required before the transaction is completed

Persons engaged in debt collection are exempt from these provisions

The new section would be codified in Title 31, chapter 2, part 1 of Montana Code (relating to interest and finance charges)
