Division of Aging and Adult Services must study criminal history record checks for owners, operators, and volunteers in adult day care and adult day health services programs.

Study shall include input from the North Carolina Adult Day Services Association and incorporate the current employee criminal history record check process.

Study must address seven elements: positions requiring checks, check process development, responsible entities for requesting and paying for checks, scope of checks (state vs. national), relevant offenses, and other appropriate issues.

Division shall report findings and recommendations to the North Carolina Study Commission on Aging by November 1, 2010.

Became effective upon ratification on July 7, 2010.
