Honors the founders of Pitt County and congratulates the county on its 250th anniversary, which commemorates the county's establishment on January 1, 1761.

Recognizes that Pitt County was created on November 17, 1760, when the Colonial Assembly divided Beaufort County into Beaufort and Pitt Counties, with the new county named for William Pitt, Earl of Chatham, who was Prime Minister of England at that time.

Acknowledges the significant contributions of Pitt County citizens to the social, cultural, political, and economic prosperity of North Carolina.

Directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to Kenneth R. Ross, Chairman of the Pitt County Board of Commissioners.

Resolution ratified on June 8, 2010, and effective upon ratification.
